How we publish
How topics are chosen, researched, written, and kept current.
A short, honest account of how content comes together at PawsNPup, from picking a topic to keeping it accurate over time.
◆ Last updated September 2026How we choose topics
We prioritise the everyday questions dog and cat parents actually have: the things people search for, ask us about, and get conflicting answers on elsewhere. Reader suggestions genuinely shape what we research next.
How we research and write
Each guide begins with reading across reputable, publicly available sources. We then organise the useful parts into clear, plain-language guidance, explaining technical terms only where they genuinely help rather than to sound authoritative.
Editorial independence
What we cover and what we recommend is decided on the merits, independent of any commercial relationship. Advertising or affiliate links never determine editorial content, and any such relationship is disclosed.
Accuracy and updates
We aim to be accurate, and honest about uncertainty. Guides are revisited and updated as understanding evolves, and each carries the date it was last updated.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we’ll correct it. Flag anything through the contact page with the guide title and the detail, and we’ll review it.
Attribution
Content is published by PawsNPup as an independent, research-driven platform. We don’t attribute guides to fictional individuals or invented credentials, the work stands on its sources, which we point to on our Research & Sources page.
